Dear friends,

Preparations for the 5th Cheerleading World Championships 2009 are already well under way for what is set to become the biggest event yet in the history of the International Federation of Cheerleading.
IFC and the local organizing committees expect upwards of 20 countries from all corners of the globe to participate and create a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and further cement the reputation of cheerleading as a serious global sport.

I sincerely hope the competition in Bremen will present us all with an opportunity to reacquaint with old friends and to make new friends from countries participating in the Cheerleading World Championships for the first time.

The 5th Cheerleading World Championships of the International Federation of Cheerleading are going to take place in Bremen on November 28th and 29th, 2009. The German American Football Federation and our German Cheerleading Association are looking forward enthusiastically to staging this event! Germany has already been host to several European Cheerleading Championships.

Our federation has many experiences in organizing major sporting events such as the German Bowl with an average attendance of 20,000 or the German Cheerleading Championships with up to 3,000 spectators. With the City of Bremen as the host and the Hanseatic Event Company as the organizers we have competent partners who guarantee that these World Championships will be a great festival for all the participants.

We feel honored to be given the chance to welcome cheerleaders from all over the world and promise that you will feel at home with your German friends.

Who would have imagined: Cheerleading has been an American Tradition for decades. Now, this art to engage the spectators to cheering has come through here as well and developed into its own category of sports with regional and national competitions.

After the AWD Dome has hosted two national Cheerleading championships,
I am delighted to invite the world championship to the AWD Dome in Bremen.
The top 1200 Cheerleaders from across the globe will participate in this widely broadcasted event on November 28th and 29th at the Weser River – and I am certain that the teams and their coaches will find an appealing stage and an excited audience.

We are looking forward to colorful, vibrant performances, to engaging musical performances and convincing choreographies full of charm and esprit.
I wish all participants, trying out for the highest title great success, a lot of fun and a fair and enthusiastic audience.

Once again we succeeded in bringing a world championship to the AWD Dome in Bremen. The entire Cheerleading World will look to the Hanseatic Town on November 28th and 29th, 2009. Bremen has held a long tradition in hosting sporting events. Whether it involved table tennis, hip hop, handball, volleyball or latin dancing, these events were always a great success. Even though, we are stepping on new sporting grounds with this 5th Cheerleading world championship, we are certain that the approximately 1200 world class athletes will meet professional and motivated staff members who have proven their competence and knowledge on numerous occasions at past major events.

The city of Bremen can anticipate an interesting mix of exciting entertainment and world class sports performances at the upcoming Cheerleading World Championship in a manner performed in America and Asian countries for years.
