Attendance at CWC 2009 could reach new record level (Bremen, 24.11.2009)

Bremen's AWD-Dome gets ready for the 5th IFC Cheerleading World Championships at the end of the month. Currently the floor in the venue is covered with ice, as a famous figure-skating show - „Holiday on Ice“ - is running at the dome. But very soon the conversion into a cheerleading location is to take place, and then the scenery will be set for the elite cheerleaders of the world to take the stage. And not only will it get noisy and exciting in the competition area, the stands should be crowded as well, as recent figures from the advance ticketing department indicate.

At the start of the month more than 2,200 two-day-tickets were already sold, a proof of the high-profiled interest throughout the German cheerleader community, as most of these pre-orders came from outside of Bremen and a lot of those fans from all over Germany include an overnight stay into their plans for the trip to Bremen. Adding close to 1,000 one-day-tickets for Saturday and more than 1,000 for Sunday, when five new world cahmpions are to be crowned, already more than 3,000 seats will be occupied on both of the competition days.

And of course ticket sales continue, so there should be some increase until the competition weekend. Focus in the final phase is set on Bremen itself. The German Cheer Mixed national team will arrive on Tuesday and shortly afterwards will take part in further promotional activities deemed to spark further interest especially within the local media at the city of Bremen. The team gives up a few hours of practice time and has agreed to welcome the media to its practice facility - of course the host team has a special responsibility to be art in the marketing schemes of AWD-Dome's PR department. The total capacity of the AWD-Dome for CWC 2009 is set at 5,281 seats - with more than 3,000 tickets per competition day already sold, a few hundred athletes, media and other event personnel even a sell-out at least for Sunday still is a possibility. In any case CWC 2009 Bremen should mark new attendance records for a cheerleading event outside of North America.
